We know that computer and engineering jobs have a higher median wage than any other STEM field, but now there’s a way to visualize the amount of jobs the US will gain across the board. Click on the sketch and try moving your mouse over different circles. We’ve taken the BLS 2010 – 2020 estimates and plot them as a radial tree. At the center, we see the 20 million jobs (median salary $34k) that the BLS estimates the US will gain over this decade. Growing out of it, we can see the breakdown of the data into industries and subindustries. The orange circles at the bottom right represent computer, mathematics, and information fields.
